What To Expect

Welcome, we’re glad you found us.

Manchester Acupuncture Studio is a local institution for low-barrier, individualized acupuncture-centered care
in Southern New Hampshire.

Our clinics in Manchester and Merrimack are open most, if not all, days of the week.

Our goal is simple:
To make acupuncture accessible for people to come often enough to find it useful, consistently.

Getting Started

To schedule your first visit, give us a call.

We ask for that first call because new visits take a little more time—we’ll orient you, answer your questions, and set a clear place to start.

After that, you can book online, call us, or schedule appointments in person.

Please be aware, we require pre-payment for first treatments only. This is normally done at the time of making your first appointment via credit card. All follow-up treatments are paid for at the time of service.

All fees are set on a sliding-scale without income verification. You simply pay what you choose at each visit, between $20-40.
Initial visit sliding-scale is $40-60.

Your First Visit

You’ll check in at the front desk and then spend about 5–10 minutes talking with your acupuncturist on-on-one, sharing information and having a chance to ask and answer questions.

We’ll cover:

 - what’s been going on
 - what’s bothering you most right now
 - and how to start the process of figuring out how useful treatments might be for you

You’ll leave with a clear initial plan.

From there, you’ll move into the treatment room and have your first treatment.

A Note on Frequency of Treatments

How often you use treatments depends on two things:

 - how long something has been going on
 - how intense it is right now

We do our best to make clinically appropriate treatment possible.

We’re open 7 days a week in Manchester, 6 in Merrimack, and we offer a third visit within a week at no charge. That’s part of our Health Crisis Program —meant for short periods of time when symptoms are intense and more frequent care is needed.

What Happens In The Treatment Room

You’ll choose a recliner, take off your shoes and socks, and place your things in the bin next to your chair. Then get comfortable and put your feet up.

Most people settle in quickly—resting, often sleeping, while the treatment unfolds.

You’re welcome to bring a blanket. We have plenty here as well.

During Treatment

Treatments usually last between 30 and 90 minutes.

There’s no perfect time.
The right time to finish is when you feel ready to get moving, or if there's a time you have to be up by. Just let us know if this is the case.

After Treatment

Take your time getting up. Gather your things. Go slowly.
Keep an eye out for changes - even if they seem short-lived or subtle at first.
